A Place For Everything & Everything In It's Place

My alternate title for this post was, "I'm not a carpenter, but I play one in my basement."

So I made shelves in my basement. Really nice shelves! They aren't square, but darn it they're level!

I had this brilliant idea (I have a lot of those, you'll see) to make floor to ceiling shelves in my basement. This was last fall...but I didn't get around to it and didn't get around to it. Then last Saturday, I find myself loading lumber onto a cart, out to my truck and down my cellar stairs.  Fifteen pieces of 8 foot board in various widths...all by myself. It took me ten trips and man was I tired after!

My supervisor, Ellie

On Sunday, I started at 10:00 am; measuring, cutting, remeasuring, lining 2x4's up and screwing them into rafters... It was an all day process, but by 5:00 pm, I had beautiful shelves that I could be proud to say I created!

Pretending to be a carpenter is exhausting, though! But now I have a clean basement and a very nice area to play darts.
