It's been a loooong time! Life went a little topsy turvy there for a few months. After the election, and the new direction of the Maine Legislature, I rode out the month of November and went jobless for a month - though I must say, having the month of December off was great for Christmas preparations! Luckily, I was able to find a job in the private sector (albeit for half what I was making before) and have had to revamp my budget...drastically!
Below is one of the projects that I was able to work on back in December. This was a rickety old chair that my dad had hanging in our old garage. I stripped and sanded it, glued it, then wood burned the designs in and stained it.
I would like to find a wooden kitchen table and a couple more chairs to deck out in this same manner. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for yard sales this summer. I also made my shower curtain, that matches my window curtain! I love it (and so does Ellie - she hides behind it on the tub edge every chance she gets).
Right now, I'm working on little Easter ornaments that I haven't taken pictures of yet, but will soon!
Anyhoo, just waiting for the furnace guy to show up to fix my furnace - ahhh, the joys of home ownership!
